Beautifully situated with stunning views. Excellent food and exceptionally friendly and efficient staff.
Doesn't really have the feel of a country house hotel, more like a very high quality guesthouse. So the cost is perhaps a little more than one would expect to pay.
The staff at the hotel went out of their way to be of assistance, they even purchased gluten free bread when I arrived as I am a coeliac. The hotel itself is very quiet, ideal for a relaxing break. The breakfast was great, bed really comfortable, view from hotel was beautiful, can't fault anything.
Very clean hotel. Breakfast was great. Very quiet hotel. If you want a restful break, this is the place. Location to the Quay was very good. (5min walk). Whilst I am critical of a few points below, we did enjoy our stay. Loads of car parking spaces.
Dissapointed that there was no wifi anywhere in the hotel even though it states so on the web site. (Was one of my reasons for booking this place so I could keep in touch with emails etc). Hotel is very quiet, no bar as such. More like a high end Guest house rather than a hotel. Tea/Coffee in room would have been good.
Friendlieness and good food.
Very comfortable and very accommadating
Excellent location near to Westport and the surrounding countryside.Very nice and attentive proprietors.Standard of room and other facilities was excellent.
the place and the hospitalety
The evening meals were delicious if a little pricey. The room furnishings were very tastefull as were all the furnishings throughtout the house. The bedsize was great. The peace and quiet and the beautiful seaview.
It was within walking distance of Westport town.
Nothing about this over priced B and B justified the title Country House Hotel.Dinner was very poor. Bedroom was an attic room- it was not the Deluxe room we booked. No tea/ coffee making facilities in bedroom. Plumbing noisy and floor boards creaked in attic room. Lady of the house offhand and did not make you feel welcoming.
We had a great room, 205. After 7 days on the road, the king bed & the huge bathroom were a welcome sight. Th food was unexpectedly upscale, the dining room very quiet & private. Wish we had another night there.
I wish we had a better map of their location. Perhaps there is one and I missed it.
Comfortable, rooms well equipped, and furnished, beds very comfotable, WiFi available, people very friendly and anxious to please.
Draft beer not avialable in bar; would have liked tea-making facility in room. Would be poor for disabled access.
The hosts Pat and Noreen, the room, the food and the surroundings.
A character hotel with comfortable, stylish bedrooms and serving a good hearty breakfast.
The lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom is a serious omission in this day and age. Tea and coffee can be taken in the lounge, but this is not what guests want first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
There is nothing to dislike at Ardmore. The owners went out of their way to make it a wonderful holiday. The food was out of this world and the bedrooms were extremely comfortable. We had such a good time there and would recommend it highly.
Charming owner & staff, lovely room, convenient for Westport and around
A minor point - room on second floor, no lift
